  • Project description
The project will help mitigate deforestation through the promotion of rational land occupancy and use methods. Thus, 10,000 ha will be placed under rational management of which 1,300 ha will be earmarked for agro-forestry; 6 million trees will be planted, deforestation will be reduced by 30% and one million tons of CO2 will be stored by 2017. The project will also produce 3000 tons of cassava, construct 3 living centers and 500 m2 of trading infrastructure, rehabilitate 3 health centers and 3 schools and rehabilitate 50 km of feeder roads. The project will be implemented in four phases: 1. Sites research and participative cartography, launch of an information management system (collection, analysis and dissemination of activities and the launch of the MRV system); 2.
