  The overall objective of the project is to reduce deforestation and poverty in the region. The project will support the development of agroforestry activities, through: - the reforestation of 3500ha of areas used for agricultural and wood exploitation purposes; - the creation of cooperatives to help local people in the commercialisation of their products; - the rehabilitation of technical, social and economical infrastructures - the development of nurseries and agroforestry plantations It will help local populations to shift towards more sustainable activities, and to increase their income.
