    The project is supposedly "Uganda’s largest sustainable plantation forestry operation". Trough a licensing agreement, NFC has committed to a minimum 50 years of forestry activities in the reserve, with operations certified to the Forest Stewardship Council's ten principles. NFC was certified to FSC in May of 2009. The company plants trees and harvests timber destined for sawlog production, pole treatment and other value-added wood products.
