    The project will restore degraded grasslands to woody grasslands and possibly to woodlands in the Sahelian silvo-pastoral zone in Senegal (Ferlo region) in close collaboration with local communities, Grande Muraille Verte, local authorities and Senegal government. Managing the pressure of cattle during the first years of reforestation will be crucial for the success. Next to native species reforestation, cash crops e.g. Acacia Senegal will be considered as an economic development opportunity for the region.
