    The Makame Savannah REDD project will protect the Makame WMA from land grabbing and encroachment, and the conversion of land from forest to agriculture, thereby stopping deforestation and preventing GHG emissions generated through tree harvesting and clearing land for agriculture. These include participatory land use mapping, boundary determination, development of land use plans, clarification of tenure, income generating activities, employment and community development
