The project consists of the establishment of approximately 15,000 ha of forestry plantations with Eucalyptus pelllita as the main species to be planted. The project involves the development of 18000 ha of FSC certified forestry plantations (Eucalyptus pellita), using underutilized Kunai grasslands in the Markham Valley, and the development of a 15 MW Biomass Power Plant to generate electricity for supply to the RAMU Grid. The main objective of the plantation is to provide fuel (for the next 25 years) to a biomass plant that will be constructed in 2018.
