  • Project description
This project works to address these issues by restoring degraded landscapes through Afforestation. Around 500,000 trees are being planted across 418 ha of degraded grazing lands to restore ecosystem functions, increase the household incomes of up to 650 families, and to sequester an estimated 205,000 tonnes of CO2e over 30 years. Nurseries will be established producing a range of timber species to establish conservation areas and increase biodiversity, and fruit trees to combat malnutrition and increase family incomes. In addition to livelihood benefits, income for community groups takes place through the sale of carbon on the voluntary market.
