- Project descriptionThe Muskitia Pâsa Klîn Nâka (Muskitia – a source of fresh air) project is a regional community initiative, which seeks certification of actions related to the reduction of carbon emissions due to unplanned deforestation and the conservation of mangrove, broadleaf, and coniferous natural forest in about 5,000, 200,000 and 70,000 ha respectively. The initiative is a grouped project whose expansion region includes all the forests present in Gracias a Dios department (Honduras) that are legally titled to indigenous territorial councils (CTI). The project initially has two instances: the Instance I (West), corresponds to seven Miskitu councils (LAINASTA, KATAINASTA, WATIASTA, Ahuya Yari, TRUKTSINASTA, BAMIASTA, and BATIASTA) characterized for being territories surrounded by other indigenous territories. The Instance II (East) correspond to one Miskitu Council (RAYAKA) and one Pech council (Las Marías), territories bordering communities not inhabited by indigenous.
