  • Project description
Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD)+ Community Carbon Pools Programme is a regional initiative in Southeast Asia to improve and strengthen REDD+ related forest governance, by ensuring that the tenurial rights of indigenous and forest-dependent communities are incorporated into the decision-making process and creating Community Carbon Pools. The program aims to: - Develop national REDD+ policies that strengthen community participation and the role of local governments in forest management. - Develop sub-national REDD+ procedures and regulations in the pilot sites with active civil society participation. - Establish Community Carbon Pools, with benefit sharing mechanisms, based on community forest tenure in the four pilot sites. - Ensure that High Conservation Value Forests (HCVF) are protected in pilot project landscapes.
