State-wide REDD+ program created by law 2308 in 2010. The project seeks to add value to the standing forests of Acre and turn them into a viable source of environmental services for current and future generations of the people from the State of Acre, the Amazon and the Planet. The project foresees a Payment for Ecosystem Services Program, including the compensation for reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, sustainable management and conservation of forests (REDD+) – by calculating their carbon percentage. Zone of Priority Assistance with voluntary participation. 7 key policies, programs and initiatives: - Environmental Management Program (“Programa Gestão Ambiental” - part of Sustainable Economy Axis of the Multi-Year Plan 2016-2019) - State System for Incentives for Environmental Services (SISA) - Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) - Environmental Regularization Program of Acre (PRAAC) - Prevention and Control of Deforestation, Burning and Forest Fires Plan (PPCDQ) - Development of Productive Chains Program (part of PPA under Economic Development Axis) - Forest Management Program - Low-Carbon Agriculture Program (ABC) National level program developed from ABC Plan within the Sectorial Plan for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Changes of the National Policy on Climate Change (PMNC)

in the Priority Area, direct cash payment for adoption of more sustainable agricultural practices (stop buring and use a legume): 250USD the first year, 300USD in later program phases | When small farmers voluntarily adhere to the Certification of Small Properties program, they receive an initial bonus payment of BRL 250 to stop deforestation and burning, and SEAPROF works with them to create a property management plan. They are then given priority in the government's provision of technical assistance and inputs, including support in the use of Mucuna spp. (a nitrogen-fixing legume that allows for farming without burning), fish farming, chicken production or enrichment planting with açai seedlings, depending on what is jointly established by the producer and SEAPROF in the property management plan.
