    The project rests on the protection of the forest in the Neblina Reserve. Rainforest Concern, a not-for-profit organisation will reinvest the income from the sale of carbon credits into strengthening the protection of the forest and community programmes (e.g. agroforestry) in the buffer zone of the project. Activities include the reforestation of previously degraded areas, and to raise awareness on deforestation issues in the country (especially the rising threat of mining and hydroelectric power centrals).
