    Combined reforestation and sustainable development project, in India, carried out by subsistence farmers. The farmers plant trees on their land and retain ownership of the trees and their products. They receive training from TIST and a share of the carbon revenues from CAAC. The objectives of TIST are to: 1) increase biomass and carbon sequestered in project areas, 2) provide a sustainable fuel wood supply for the members, 3) provide a new source of revenue to the members from the sale of carbon credits, 4) provide training in important social and health related subjects, and 5) improve the biodiversity of the area by adding canopy and indigenous trees
