  The major activities of the project are promotion of sustainable forest management through joint forest management practices, contributing in mitigating the climate change by removing CO2 from atmosphere, improving soil and water conservation and strengthening of community institutions such as Joint Forest Management Communities (JFMCs), Forest User Groups (FUGs) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) etc. Besides, providing training and capacity building of Partner Non-Government Organisations (PNGOs), SHGs, FUGs and JFMCs members in order to improve and enhance livelihood opportunities at local level.
