    The major aims of the proposed SSC A/R CDM project activity are to enhance the forest cover, improve local livelihood opportunities, and adopt sustainable forest management practices through JFM activities. The proposed small scale project activities strictly adhere on promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through involving local communities. The project activitiesfocus on women empowerment, training and capacity building of front line forest staff, JFMC members, Forest User Groups (FUGs), and Self Help Groups (SHGs). Standard forestry techniques like sowing of seeds, dig pitting, planting, weeding and casualty planting as recommended by the state forest departmentwere followed by all the JFMCs
