  • Project description
The "Green Wall" ecosystem rehabilitation plan partners with local communities to replant native trees, as well as economically valuable trees in order. CI has scaled up the restoration and rehabilitation programs in Gunung Gede National Park, and added the Gunung Halimun and Gunung Salak (Gedepahala) areas, to the Gedepahala Corridor strategic plan. Green Wall projects include replanting trees, a tree adoption program, agroforestry, public outreach and community education. The restored forests will form “green walls” to buffer the protected national park forests in the future, prevent soil erosion and landslides, protect water sources, contribute to alleviating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide and provide various other biodiversity benefits.
