The project goal is to create a model to use REDD+ to finance conservation of HCV areas within palm oil concessions. Three key approaches are being implemented. - To engage oil palm estates in the development of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+) projects within concession borders in order to finance the protection of High Conservation Value Areas (HCVAs) and important ecological corridors - To engage local communities on the development of REDD+ projects in their community forest areas - To engage local government to provide an enabling environment for the protection of HCVAs across all concession land through policy improvement
