- Project descriptionThe project aims to establish a biodiversity corridor between the two large remnant disturbed rainforest patches in Sri Lanka and to conserve buffer zones around the forest edges. The project consists of three phases. The first two phases of the project, developed in the Plan Vivo PDD, will support the principle of "Analog Forestry" through home garden reforestation and agro forestry using a farmer-based participatory approach. This part of the project is focused on 11ha. Phase III of the project started in 2013 with 17 farmers managing 8ha of land. The project adopts a Payments for Ecosystem Services model: participating farmers will receive staged payments in return for successful management plans developed with the support of the project.
